RYAN the DJ at 808 Club Pattaya!
From 808 Club:
Born and Raised in Durban KZN, Ryan has always had a passion for music. His early exposures to the dj culture by his elder brother led him to generate a lot of interest into the art of what goes on behind the decks.
At the age of 16, Ryan began djing like most local djs — spinning at house parties, sneaking in to club gigs and making and distributing mixtapes to his friends. Honing his skills with much practice in his bedroom on 2 Turntables and a Mixer, he has set himself apart to be unique in his own way of scratching and mixing. In 2004 Ryan secured his first residency and this was the start of bigger better things to come. With much practice and hard work, he earned the title of East Coast Radio and MTN’s Battle of the Djs Hip Hop Champ in 2008 which was judged by one of his biggest inspirations in the local Dj industry to date, Ready D. The title earned him a slot on East Coast Radio as a mix-show Dj for the “Late Night Vibe” show with Trevor Williams and Sekza. A year later Ryan landed a spot as a mix-show Dj on 5fm’s Friday Night Fix with Dj Fix (Fikile Moeti) and this had opened up more doors creating more opportunities for him.
In 2012 after beating out over 150 entrants, Ryan earned himself yet another title, the winner of 5fm’s “Ultimix at 6” competition.
This achievement won him a 2 month on-air residency on the Fresh Drive’s Ultimix at 6 as well as an opportunity to play alongside the Ultimix at 6 Djs Dino Bravo, Kent, Euphonik and Fresh at 4 “Ultimix at 6” album launch parties in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nelspruit and Bloemfontein Ryan has featured in various Tv shows including SABC 1’s: Yo Tv’s Wildroom, The Big Breakfast Show and the music show LIVE as well as publications such as Get It Magazine, The Sunday Times Extra, The Rising Sun, Northglen News, The Star and Post.
To date he’s had the opportunity to open for many high profile dj’s and artists namely Fatman Scoop, Dj Big Syphe (Power 106 LA, Pitbull’s Tour Dj), Dj Biks (Jay Sean’s Tour Dj) and Dj Kayper (BBC Asian Network UK). Aside from being a dj, Ryan has completed his studying in International Marketing Management at Varsity College Westville in 2008. He has also added event hosting to his name along with fellow djs in the industry with the hopes of bringing quality events to the Durban club scene. Ryan has an amazing strive and dedication to be the BEST at everything he does. He is always willing to go above and beyond, and do whatever it takes to get the job done with impeccable perfection. Playing everything from Hip Hop to R&B, House to Top40 and 80s, his versatile and creative Djing style allows him to adapt to any crowd and ensures that everyone will have a good time.
